Why This Area
Why We Work in Meltham
Meltham sits in the Holme Valley where local Pennine stone and mill-era buildings demand sympathetic repairs. MB Stones values the village for its stock of traditional stonework and for owners who prefer reclaimed matches. Our owner-led approach and direct contact make sympathetic restoration straightforward.
Property Types
Properties in Meltham
Typical jobs in Meltham include stone cottages and terraces, former mill conversions, detached stone houses and garden boundary walls. We also work on barn conversions, period porches and listed features that need reclaimed quoin stones, half-round copings and square face wall toppings to match original fabric.
Common Challenges
Common Problems in Meltham
Exposure to Pennine weather causes mortar erosion, frost spalling and slipped copings on Meltham properties. Garden walls and dry stone boundaries suffer collapse after heavy rain. MB Stones supplies matching reclaimed copings, quoin repairs, dry stone rebuilds and collection of surplus stone for reuse on restorations.
